I WANT TO GO FOR A RIDE!!!
So, I have not really been in a "woo hoo I can't wait to post this" mood lately.
One of the people at work turned in his resignation to avoid being fired, he has been an on-going stress in my life. I think its better for us and him.
My bike has been taking baby steps towards really ride-able. Everytime one thing is whew something else is CRAP!
My son turned 16 last week, and I found out the hard way that you need to schedule a driving test with the DMV 2 months in advance!!
Then, on Monday at football practice, he broke a molar! I took him to the dentist last night, and they gave him a root canal and a temp. crown!
My hubby also had a broken tooth. It was a week ago, and that is how we found this new dentist! (old dentist sucked!!) So atleast we were prepared for my son needing a nice dentist.
Last weekend was home comming for my kids high school. The football team won! My middle one looked gorgeous for the dance!! Of course, she always does.
Her play practice has been going good, but now she wants to drop forensics (debate) which is the only thing that she has been doing consistantly through high school. The coach for debate team actually wants them to put in effort and work at it this year, so she doesn't enjoy it anymore. Unfortunately, kids can drop classes without their parents aproval, so no matter how much we do the "don't quit, give it a chance, you've done really good at it" thing, she probably dropped it before she even brought it up to us.
My football team is playing Dallas this weekend, @ Dallas. We fly out Saturday morning, and we get back Sunday afternoon. Between sitting in the airports and flying, I should have a decent amount of time to knit! :D
My motorcycle club is taking an official, by a photographer, club photo on our bikes this Friday. I will cry if my bike is not ready :(
Two weeks till I get to go back to CC!! I think I might join a knit group that meets on Thursdays also!!
I'll write more later, gotta go!

Somebody's Oppinion
So, anyone who has not been here before, rest assured, I'm only really opinionated (on my blog) once in a great while, rants are not too common, so please feel free to read more than just this post. :)
Now, on with it:
I was having a conversation with some of my teammates over Slurpee's last night after practice (GO LINE!) and a topic came up that I have often thought about but never really discussed.
When I got home, the exact same topic was on the news!! Very strange!
The topic, you ask. Here goes.. stick with me.
Back in "the day", lets say our grandparents timish, a women's job was to take care of the home; make sure the house was clean, the kids were fed, laundry, shopping.. you get the pic. A man's job was to go to work, mow the lawn, and kill spiders.
Men had the stress of bringing home all the bacon, women had the stress of keeping a nice house and making sure the kids didn't piss off the hubby. Sounds fair to me.
Now, fast forward.
The "Bacon Stress" has now been split between both husband and wife. BUT, the stress of keeping a nice house and caring for the kids has remained mostly on the wife.
Yes, some husbands help out around the house, but when you have someone coming over, is their definition of a "clean" house the same as yours?
Do they feel the stress to make everything just so? Do they feel like they are not doing their "job" or that they are "less than" if there is nothing to drink but water and milk? or if there are spots on the mirror in the bathroom? or dog hair on the sofa? or if your kid put away a dirty glass and now a guest is drinking out of it??!! Not in my house. That is a stress solely my own.
Now, I'm not saying that my wonderful husband makes me feel stress about the house being clean, that is something that is deep down inside of me.. I'm the woman, that's part of my job.. right?
In our struggle for equality in the work place, we have started burring ourselves in stress!
What did those damn bra burners do to us!! hahahahaha I'm half kidding, but think about it.
How much do you do around the house? How much does your significant other do?
Is it equal? We've earned our financial independance, but our families are still domestically dependant on us.
Is what we've gained worth what we've gained?
Now I'm on a mission to find out how other women feel about this!
I was talking to a female co-worker (and fellow knitter) about this topic on the way in from the parking garage this morning (after dropping the kid off at school) and she added another fine point. Another major stress in our lives as women, is looking good.
Now, I know that men still feel pressure to look good, but think about this.
Men that gain some weight after getting married are called "happy" and "well taken care of". Their wives are told what a great job they must be doing.
However, when a woman puts on a little weight, we are "letting our selves go" and its seen as a problem, no one tells the hubby what a "great job" they must be doing takin' care of the little lady!
Good point!
So here's what I would like to know.. how do you feel about this topic?? Post on your blog, or comment on mine :D

8 things about me.
So, my cc buddy did "8 things about Mary" thing, now I'm going to do it to.
Bare with me, I think most of you know these things :)
1. I have 3 step-kids that have lived with me and my husband full time since I met him. (they were living with him when I met him) My 20 year old daughter is in the Army, my 17 year old daughter is in a play this year, and my 16 year old son is a starter on the Varsity football team.
2. I work for the Circus! I'm the lead controls tech for Cirque du Soleil's "O" show at the Bellagio.
3. I'm in a motorcycle club called the S.L.O.B's! (nobody is my knickname) I tore my '76 Shovelhead apart in Feb. I mean all the way apart! It has been re-powder coated, re-painted and the motor has been rebuilt. I have also gone from a 4 speed to 5 speed transmission. My wonderful hubby has been putting it back together for me since I've been really busy this fall.(see #5) In case I haven't mentioned, it is this || close to being done!
4. I love to crochet and knit! I am a member of a crochet club here in Vegas. The Las Vegas Hookers. I miss you ladies! 3 more weeks of #5 and I'll be back!! I can't wait to show ya'll the knitting I have been doing! I know its a cc, but we knit to, so just back off! :) Oh hey.. my number finally came up on Ravelry!! Sweet!
5. I am a starting Offensive Guard for the Las Vegas Showgirlz. We are a part of the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL).
6. I have a few tattoos and piercings. My hubby and I are going to go on our honeymoon for our 5 year anniversary, we have been talking about going to LA Ink and getting tattoos at Kat Van De's shop!!
7. I really enjoy remodeling. Someday I will make more time to get my house done.
8. I plan on retiring in the next 10 years and opening a yarn shop/ coffee house. Or a biker bar, the vote is still out :D
I would like to learn things about all of you that read this too! If you have a blog, do this.. if not just put 8 things in the comments of this post!!

This is going to be kinda scatered, I have only a few min. before I leave work!! :D
So, my bike is about an hour away from the first ride! I'm hoping to get the brakes bled before football practice tonight! Then tomorrow afternoon, it'll be, adjust the clutch and go for a quick ride before football!!

Here are pics from the last run my bike will miss!!!

Check out that helmet!! I love it!! :D

This is where she belongs!!

She rode all the way to the top of Mt. Charleston and back down in the WIND people!! She is well on her way to riding on the front all the time!!

Here we are headed out of Boulder City!

I don't mind bein' on the back too much ;)
Here's my hubby playin' on the train.. all the guys got into the action eventually :D

Next stop.. bar on the reservation.. Hualipi!
My hubby tied up Jess and hung her on the wall!!

Atleast she was safe inside away from the bees!!!

Scary black/blue/purple ones

and the scariest of all!!

No, I did not get that close to them.. I just have a great camara.. thanks HUBBY :D
So, did I mention that this was a camping trip?? I know, camping in the desert? Yes, midwest friends, we do camp in the desert.. luckily, this was in the high desert.. that means some green.. and rain!!!

LOTS OF RAIN!!
It was sooo cold and rainy all day Saturday!
But that just meant lots of cuddlin' by fires..

The run is put on by the AZ River Riders, that means.. we got to see Foto and his wife Teri!

Right on cue, the clouds, rain, and wind all cleared up as the sun went down, and it was a great bomb fire!!

This is Mike, AJ, and my hubby!
I'm not sure who these guys are, but I stole their souls!

Sunday was beautiful!!
Sometimes, biker chicks look like cholos. (sp?)

This is the lengthes some of us ol'ladies go to, to get the best pics...!!!

That's Charlene standing on the back of her hubby's bike to get a pic of the club in front of her!!
She's a PRO!!
I gotta go!
