So, it just took me an hour and a half to catch up on the Yarn Harlot!!
I can't believe it has been that long.. look at everything she's done!! like 3 pairs of socks and a sweater!! Not to mention visiting sheep in far off places.. green places!!
Very exotic for someone like me.. in the middle of summer.. in the middle of the desert.
I think that the end of July/ beginning of August is just a weird time for me. Every year something happens. It may not be life changing, but it always feels like it could be if I wasn't such a control freak.
(I was going to break into a long story here... mid-life crisis.. need a change.. freaking out.. getting too old to be acting this way.. blah blah blah... but as I was typing it, I decided to keep the craziness inside for now hahhahaah. If anything dramatic actually happens, I'll let ya know :)
Do any of you have a month or season or what ever that always seems to put a hitch in your giddy-up? Am I the only one this happens to?
Anyways.. the prizes are off and received. I thought that I might have loaded the pics.. but I didn't .. sorry.
The knitter on the east coast got a little naked lamb knit out of acrylic yarn (hahaha acrylic lamb) and some stitch markers. The girl that I went to school with back in the mid-west got a couple dish clothes and a groovy dish soap bottle that I stole the idea for from my bff.
When I post a pic of it.. I'll tell you how easy and cheap it is to do :D
On the knitting front, I still have socks on the needles. They are the socks that I cast on during world wide knit in public day. They are beautiful and easier than they look, and would be totally finished if I didn't have soo many seestors to knit birthday presents for. Those presents are all done now, and the only thing standing between me and the socks is the sweater.
I'm working on my daughters sweater. The pattern is in the Fall Vogue Knitting and the yarn was picked out by Nikki when I was in FL for her graduation. I think I already told you all this hahaha sorry.
This pattern is great for a first time sweater! The directions are very easy to follow so far, and although the cables look complicated.. they really knit right up. I think it may actually get done in time for her b-day. If I remember to stop and pick up a 16" US13 for the sleeves on my way home from work, that would help!
Late :)
