So, I am dying yarn today!! :D
I'm kickin' out a bunch of semi-solid kettle dyes! (aka Inconsistant)

We have a sweater
So, the sweater is almost done. I decided that I'm not happy with the seaming or the trim that I put on last night at crochet club, but other than that it looks pretty good!
Both sleeves are the same length! hahaha My gauge seems to have produced the correct size. (thanks for trying it on Deena :) And with about 2 hours and luck finding buttons tonight, it will be in the mail tomorrow!
That will give it a day over a week to get to Ft.Bragg on time!! :D

WOW have I really not even read a blog all month!
So, it just took me an hour and a half to catch up on the Yarn Harlot!!
I can't believe it has been that long.. look at everything she's done!! like 3 pairs of socks and a sweater!! Not to mention visiting sheep in far off places.. green places!!
Very exotic for someone like me.. in the middle of summer.. in the middle of the desert.
I think that the end of July/ beginning of August is just a weird time for me. Every year something happens. It may not be life changing, but it always feels like it could be if I wasn't such a control freak.
(I was going to break into a long story here... mid-life crisis.. need a change.. freaking out.. getting too old to be acting this way.. blah blah blah... but as I was typing it, I decided to keep the craziness inside for now hahhahaah. If anything dramatic actually happens, I'll let ya know :)
Do any of you have a month or season or what ever that always seems to put a hitch in your giddy-up? Am I the only one this happens to?
Anyways.. the prizes are off and received. I thought that I might have loaded the pics.. but I didn't .. sorry.
The knitter on the east coast got a little naked lamb knit out of acrylic yarn (hahaha acrylic lamb) and some stitch markers. The girl that I went to school with back in the mid-west got a couple dish clothes and a groovy dish soap bottle that I stole the idea for from my bff.
When I post a pic of it.. I'll tell you how easy and cheap it is to do :D
On the knitting front, I still have socks on the needles. They are the socks that I cast on during world wide knit in public day. They are beautiful and easier than they look, and would be totally finished if I didn't have soo many seestors to knit birthday presents for. Those presents are all done now, and the only thing standing between me and the socks is the sweater.
I'm working on my daughters sweater. The pattern is in the Fall Vogue Knitting and the yarn was picked out by Nikki when I was in FL for her graduation. I think I already told you all this hahaha sorry.
This pattern is great for a first time sweater! The directions are very easy to follow so far, and although the cables look complicated.. they really knit right up. I think it may actually get done in time for her b-day. If I remember to stop and pick up a 16" US13 for the sleeves on my way home from work, that would help!

Socks
So, while I was showing everybody how "easy" knitting a sock on two circulars is last Tuesday night, I messed up my socks! hahah
I had just put them back on the same two needles to continue knitting 2 at a time after turning the heels, and I was talking about taking liberties and "fixing" things as you go and letting go of little problems.. (ie see.. then you just k2tog and tada the right number of stitches) HA
As soon as I got home I pulled both socks back to just after turning the heels. Only 2 rows and they are all better now.
Yeah.. just let go of little problems.. my butt!! :)

Almost.
So, sometime this weekend I should be sending off the prizes from the contest. Next time I do a contest I will have the prizes ready before I post it :)
I finished a b-day present for one of my seestors yesterday, and I was patting myself on the back when I realized that I completely missed one. I'm not sure when her b-day is, but Mica, if your reading this, I picked a pattern and your present will be cast on this weekend!
Guess what!!! The fall issue of Vogue Knitting comes out this weekend! There is a beautiful sweater pattern in there that I have been looking forward to since like April I think! I'm going to knit it for my oldest. We picked out yarn at a yarn shop in FL when I was out there for her EOD graduation :) It's a very soft washable wool. I'm hoping to have it done in time for her b-day in Sept. I can't believe she is going to be 21!!
Oh, here is something I can tell you about. The hubby and I finished laying the flooring in my house last Saturday! :D One less thing we have to do before we sell it.
Speaking of the hubby, we will be married for 5 years this Saturday. I know!! Somethings seem so far away and others seem like the other day.
Hey that could be a line in a song. :)
Well, since I can't show you any pics or even write about anything I've been working on, I guess I'll just talk to ya later :)
